More than 6 million Americans are living with the effects of stroke. Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke. Stoke is the 3rd leading cause of disability in Minnesota.

SIGNS OF STROKE
• Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg
• Sudden confusion or trouble speaking or understanding others
• Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
• Sudden dizziness, trouble walking, or loss of balance or coordination
• Sudden severe headache with no known cause

UNIQUE SYMTOMS FOR WOMEN
• Sudden face and limb pain
• Sudden hiccups
• Sudden nausea
• Sudden palpitations
• Sudden general weakness
• Sudden chest pain
• Sudden shortness of breath

STROKE PREVENTION
• Eat a healthy diet
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Be active
• Don’t smoke
• Limit alcohol use
